For many Expats moving to Switzerland it is natural to look for a good school for their children. However in Switzerland the system is such, that you are alocated a school depending on where you live. There isn’t a choice as to which school you want your children to go to.
There are private schools, these are designated for Expats who do not intend to stay in Switzerland for more than two or three years. In this case the children are better off in a school that meets an international curriculum. Families who plan to integrate themselves in Swiss society and culture may choose to let their children attend a local school.
„In Switzerland 95% of the pupils attend public schools as the education is considered to be of a high standard”*
